Buhari Removes “Stale” Service Chiefs

 

The president had earlier accepted the resignation of the service chiefs and what many believe was a prompt from Aso Rock to the service chief to give way to fresh blood to work on the nation’s deteriorating security problems.

STATE HOUSE: President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed new Service Chiefs to replace the stale ones popular opinion across the country has denounced. In the changes made, the following military chiefs take over from the outgoing one with immediate effect:

  • Major-General Leo Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff

  • Major-General I. Attahiru, Chief of Army Staff

  • Rear Admiral A.Z Gambo, Chief of Naval Staff

  • Air-Vice Marshal I.O Amao, Chief of Air Staff.

President Buhari congratulated the outgoing chiefs for their service to the armed forces and the nation in general.
