Anniversary: Olubosede Anike Showale Celebrates Birthday Bash with Compro ’79 College Alumni

Mrs. Olubosede Anike Showale, a farmer, civil servant, and businesswoman penultimate week celebrated her birthday anniversary with family members and friends from all walks of life in her exquisite country home in Badagry Town in Lagos state.

Delectable Annie as she is popularly known by most of her acquaintances, especially her secondary school colleagues of Aladura Comprehensive High School, Anthony Village, (ACHS) was all joy and gratitude as the ’79 set of the school stormed the birthday bash to celebrate, eat, and dance with her. Not willing to be left behind in celebrating with a wonderful colleague they all acclaimed is endowed with a good heart and kindness to all; a trait which was displayed during the occasion, friends in the diaspora led by Pastor Oluwasogo Mcgregor a UK-based general overseer and others joined during a zoom session to pour encomium on the celebrant as the birthday cake was cut.

The celebrant who could not hide her appreciation for the large turnout, good wishes, and felicity shown by friends, apart from food and drinks plentifully served ensured that as many as those willing had at least one form of agricultural product to take home from her orchard. The highlight of the occasion was an announcement as the event wound up that Pastor MacGregor had paid for a giant size Christmas chicken each for every member of the 79-Set who attended the celebration. The Chairman of the ’79-Set and leader of the college delegation, Alhaji Taofeek Tiamiyu praised Mrs. Showale for inviting the set to celebrate with her and urged other members to emulate her good gesture. Speaking during the vote of thanks, he said: “As young boys and girls in Aladura Comprehensive High School in 1979 when we graduated, little did we know that we’d be blessed to meet and reminisce on those days over food and drink like we’re doing today. We must thank God for the gift of life for those of us here and those who for one reason or the other cannot be here.

“We thank Olubose for this gathering and hope to have more of us doing this in the years ahead. “We must thank our Brother Pastor Oluwasogo MacGregor for this large chicken. We hope that when we next gather like this if he’s not with us, we all will get a cow each from him”, to which the members burst into wild laughter.
