Breaking News: Nationwide Strike: Labour blinks and suspends strike for 5 days

The Organised Labour has suspended the nationwide strike for a period of five days to discuss with the tripartite committee on the new national minimum wage set up by the parties involved.

The announcement was made by the Trade Union Congress (TUC) president Festus Osifo said this on Tuesday in Abuja.

Festus Osifo has also directed that every government and private office is expected to reopen for full business as usual.

It will be recall that the labour movement in a meeting with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, George Akume, and other government officials on Monday reached a resolution in which it was announced that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was committed to a new minimum wage higher than N60,000.

They equally resolved that the Tripartite Committee would meet every day for the next one week to arrive at an agreeable National Minimum Wage.
