The Good Samaritan Gesture and Unity Renewal Project Initiatives in Jos – Mallam Abdulkarim M. Muhammad

PEGASUS REPORTERS, LAGOS | AUGUST 4, 2024

I’m glad to have this wonderful breaking news from Jos, which was sent to my WhatsApp box by Alhaji Umar Musa Yashi, that God anointed Executive Director in-charge of Humanitarian Affairs of the North East Development Commission, NEDC, whose spiritual tolerance revolves around saving lives.

I recall that, when some victimized Civil Servants were being molested and maltreated at the old Federal Capital Territory cabinet office in Lagos, Mal Musa would always mobilize his Civil Service General Orders and meticulously track the issues at stakes and ensure that justice is done for everyone who’s entitlements are being misguidedly threatened or denied outside the official channels of due diligence practices or due process template.
I recalled that one of the victims from Plateau State, a junior brother to my friend, Mr. Daze, from Lankang, Prof. Dakun Shown town, was given back his rights as a result of Mal Musa Yashi’s official investigations and intervention.

This is how we were brought up in the old and spiritually guided system of love thy brother as yourself in the old North for which obvious reason, we grew up to always see and regard everyone as his brothers’ keepers, regardless of tribal differences or tongues except for all vices or any heinous cases of crimes forbidden by God.

Even as I write today, I recall with nostalgia, when as the former Rector of NTA Television College Jos, I received a delegation of 35 emissaries from the palace of the paramount Ruler of Du, the ancestral home of the Berom people, announcing his interest in favoring me with a chieftaincy title, which I acknowledged with gratitude and highest level of respect.

Unfortunately, there’s something glaringly unexplainable and genetically induced in my family, which seems to be reticent and unfavorable to traditional system. This has become a permanent ideological disability to me because before the offer by Da Gom Du, the lates Emir of Keffi (my cherished Headmaster) Alhaji Muhammadu Chindo Yamusa the first; the late Emir of Nasarawa, Alhaji Hassan Ahmed the Second, my wife’s cousin as well as my great mentor, the late Emir of Lafia, Alhaji Mustapha Agwai the Second, all tried to honor me with a traditional title which I humbly accepted but apologized to be kept in view since nobody can be so impolitely and irresponsibly aggressive to turn down a great honor by great leaders like those I had mentioned.

So, in the same vein, I also apologized to the Da Gbom Du. I am aware that my grandfather was the only credible exception, whom the great and ideologically radical Warrior, Magaji Dan Yamusa appointed as Wazirin Kokona, perhaps because of their ideological commitments to truthfulness and justice for the sake of objectifying the interests of the Common Man.

I believe that’s why my grandfather went on exile along with the great Magaji Dan Yamusa, the brave anti- colonial hero.

In any case, I am proud to be officially identified and recognized by so many people of great honor to show that the human family extends beyond ordinary communal intergroup boundaries, because, till today, I can never forget the late Maxwell Yakubu, the visionary -oriented Tarok Technocrat, generously endowed civil servant with abundant humanitarian impulse for humanity doctrine, who deliberately took me for introduction to His Royal Majesty, the then Appeal Court Judge and President Federal Court of Appeal Jos, the current Emir of Ilorin in Kwara State.

In conclusion and when the chips are down, I believe that Nigerians will eventually regain control of our humanitarian sanity and will never allow political opportunists like the Pro- American Pentagon Funded conspiratorial opposition cliques to disunite us again, regardless of their unrepentant corrupt agenda.

I am proud of the Plateau State Peace initiative, and I believe that like the proverbial Sphinx, Jos and all parts of Northern Nigeria will bounce back to their highest level of humanism!
