“The group’s Action-plan, as seen by Pegasus Reporters indicates that its efforts are motivated by the widespread dissatisfaction among Bauchi citizens with the current administration. The Concerned Bauchi Progressive Congress, a Coalition of political action groups of the North-East Coalition of Tinubu/Kashim Support Groups Bauchi State, has worked out a modus operandi code-named 3Cs—Consultation, Consolidation, and Confrontation in its resolve to ensure better governance in Bauchi state from 2027.

The Coalition is actively working to draft Malam Musa Umar Yashi, currently the Executive Director (Humanitarian Affairs) of the North-East Development Commission (NEDC), into the 2027 Bauchi gubernatorial race. The Coalition believes that Yashi’s leadership is essential to rescue the state from what it describes as “ineffective governance by the current administration”.

Recall that the North-East Coalition of Tinubu/Kashim Support Groups, the parent body has been particularly vocal, emphasizing that Yashi may still be undecided about entering the race. As a result, the Concerned Bauchi Progressives Congress has intensified its efforts to persuade him through various initiatives, including public polling, donor engagement, petitions, recruitment drives, and a potential legal strategy.

The group’s Action-plan, as seen by Pegasus Reporters indicates that its efforts are motivated by the widespread dissatisfaction among Bauchi citizens with the current administration. The action plan of the group seen by Pegasus Reporters has this insert: “We view Yashi as a beacon of hope who can deliver the dividends of democracy to the people, especially those who feel marginalized by the present government.

“The formation of the 3Cs is therefore a decisive action to draft Yashi, reflecting the broad-based support he enjoys across different social strata in the state”

The Coalition’s action-plan argues that a Yashi candidacy aligns with the values and expectations of the majority of Bauchi’s citizens, irrespective of gender or class, which they claim are neglected by the incumbent leadership.

Pegasus Reporters can, therefore, authoritatively report that the push to draft Malam Musa Yashi is gaining significant traction, with more stakeholders and progressive groups joining the cause.

An important aspect of the Coalition’s posturing is that it seems to have asserted its independence from traditional political entities, criticizing the current state’s leadership as antagonistic and degrading. They, from the proposed draft in the item under “Consolidation” are prepared “to take any necessary measures, including legal action, to compel Yashi to run”, citing Nigeria’s legal framework that allows for such actions in cases of public interest.

This movement represents a critical moment in Bauchi’s political landscape, as the coalition is determined to bring about change by any means necessary, reflecting the deep-seated frustrations and aspirations of many in the state.

The movement’s operation is encapsulated under the following Hashtags:
#BauchiDecides2027
#MusaYashi2027
#MY4Governor2027
#MYVolunteerAdvocates
#MY4Bauchi2027
