North Korean leader Kim Jong-un threatens to step up all deterrence measures, including nuclear capabilities.
According to intelligence reports, Kim Jong-un has sent thousands of soldiers to Moscow to fight in the war in Ukraine. For him, opposing the Americans is essential.
Indeed, for the North Korean leader, it’s the United States, one of the countries sending the most economic and military aid to Kiev since the start of hostilities, that’s increasing the risk of a new world war.
According to Kim Jong-un, Washington is also fuelling regional conflicts. In a speech to mark the 77th anniversary of the founding of the country’s armed forces, he therefore called for a strengthening of the country’s nuclear forces.
For the Asian country’s leader, the United States is increasing “the danger of a new world war”, which is why he claims that his idea of seeking unlimited defence capability is “the fairest”.
