The Sokoto State Peoples’ Democratic, PDP, Secretariat was shocked during the week when one of its grassroots power brokers, Engr. Mustapha Bello who is popularly known as Musty Challenger dumped PDP for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Musty Challenger” was received by APC leader in the state, distinguished Senator Dr Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko Sarkin Yamman Sokoto.

Speaking with Pegasus Reporters on his leaving the PDP, Engr. Bello (Challenger), said he decided to leave PDP for lack of focus and injustice from the leadership of the party.
“You can see that the PDP is in total disarray all over the country; from top to bottom. How can I meet the yearnings of those who look up to my representation when the vehicle we’re driving in has a knocked engine and flat tyres”
He pledged to do all he can and give his best to the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state. He further said, he decamped to the party with all his followers and members respectively.
APC gubernatorial candidate 2023, former Deputy Governor of Sokoto His Excellency Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto FCNA also commended the effort and welcomed Engineer Mustapha Bello to APC, promising to give him equal treatment among the party members.
