The African Refugees Foundation (AREF) has announced its plans to commemorate this year’s World Refugee Day and the programs lined up for the occasion.

A press statement by the Executive Director, Mr. Olujimi Olusola III urges philanthropists and members of the public to key into the project of making life easier for the displaced and refugees in the society to enable their quick resettlement to normal life. The statement outlines some of the programs for the dat as feeding over 1000 IDP in Lagos and donating basic needs to hundred of others across that country.

The statement also pleaded with men and women of goodwill to make donations in cash to a given bank account and in kind to its corporate office in Lagos.

A full text of the statement reads:

As we will soon commemorate World Refugee Day, (June 20th, 2023) it is important to remember that there are millions of people who have been forced to flee their homes due to conflict, persecution, and violence.

These Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) often lack access to basic necessities such as food, shelter, and healthcare. At this critical time, we are seeking your support to provide food assistance to IDPs in our community. Last year, with your support, we provided food for four hundred families within the Lagos Metropolis.

Many families have been displaced and are unable to meet their basic needs. As a result, they are facing severe food insecurity and malnutrition. This year we hope to feed 1000 IDP’s within Lagos Metropolis at a modest cost of N1000 per meal.

Your donation can and will make a significant difference in the lives of these vulnerable individuals.

With your help, we can provide food assistance to those who need it the most, including women, children, and elderly persons. Your support will help us to purchase and distribute food items such as rice, beans, and cooking oil.

A donation can be made into :
African Refugees Foundation
United Bank of Africa (UBA) 1000838895.

We understand that these are challenging times, but we believe that together we can make a difference. Your generosity can help us provide a lifeline to those who are most in need.

Thank you for considering our request for support. Please know that your donation will make a lasting impact on the lives of many IDPs in our community.

Sincerely,

Olujimi Olusola III
Chief Executive Officer.
