Short-Take with Mallam Abdulkarim M. Abdullahi on Fight Against Corruption by the new EFCC Chairman

“Is it not worthy of mention that in less than 3- months of assuming office, the new Chairman has been able to recover over sixty billion naira (N60b) and another ten million dollars ($10m) from corrupt officials which is worthy of commendation.”

PEGASUS REPORTERS, LAGOS | MARCH 09, 2024

This is my take and honest testimony on the new Sheriff in-charge of Nigeria’s anti-corruption warfare in Nigeria and the exemplary character of the new EFCC Executive Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede whose moral profile and ethical work plan looks like a reincarnated replica and carbon copy of Malam Nuhu Ribadu, that Nigeria’s iconic anti-corruption czar before now.

Forgive my innocent inquiry which is the product of my personal encounter and valedictorian testimony on account of the dynamic efforts of the current EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede which resonate with the motivational intensity as well as professional audacity of uncompromisable integrity reminiscent of Nuhu Ribadu’s golden age of “No friend, no foe era”?

Of course,” I made this observation to acknowledge the relative impact and appreciate the superlative display of courageous bravado and determination, so far instinctively demonstrated by our new seemingly dare the devil EFCC chieftain, which for me, from all intent and purposes, echo the moral standards Integrity of the Nuhu Ribadu’s unforgettable template.

Is it not worthy of mention that in less than 3- months of assuming office, the new Chairman has been able to recover over sixty billion naira (N60b) and another ten million dollars ($10m) from corrupt officials which is worthy of commendation.

Perhaps, at this point in time, I believe it’s not anything wrong to recall and mention that period of Nuhu Ribadu’s golden age because, I happened to be aware of their unrepentant agenda against corruption, courtesy of Abdullahi Attah Odeh Doma, the Adegbo Alagon Doma, fearless brother and indefatigable warrior and never say die combatant fighter, against the most connected and stubborn looters who wrecked NITEL and other corporate public institutions in Nigeria. I was privileged to have stayed close to him; for over 10 years as a guest in his house, in Victoria Island Lagos, at the time he was appointed as one of the EFCC board members and assigned to probe and investigate the illegally smuggled consignment of controversial rice Armada imported into Nigeria by an Indian International Conglomerate called “CHURCHGATGATE!

I can vouch for Abdullahi Attah Odeh Doma, holding the Holy Qur’an with my two eyes closed and my neck threatened by a hangman’s noose, in an oath-taking ritual validation testimony and that is why, when the Nigerian Senate Committee under the leadership of the controversial Kogi State Senator Smart Adeyemi, was mocking the nation on false pretenses and alarmist campaigns of columny about recruitment scandals at the FCT inland Revenue Service, on national and international news broadcast television systems, I was completely irked and so furiously angry and felt humiliated because it was a most tragic irony, which can only be officially implemented in a country without spiritual values, where official cover-ups are frivolously indulged in by the social miscreants responsible for undermining Nigeria’s economic and spiritual sincerity.

In the final analysis and all things objectively pontificated, I believe that the new helmsman at the EFCC is a very serious-minded anti-corruption warrior who is poised to get Nigeria totally protected and sagaciously liberated, from both local bandits as well as international Clubs of Financial Crimes hitmen to safeguard Nigeria’s national integrity like never undertaken before.

My prayer is that the Government should take note of this my public testimony and magna opus and allow him to complete his assignment and potentially very historic national duty, which promises to be an African Continent’s most Globalized anti-Corruption Economic Initiative Project since independence!
