Nigerians should know about Tinubu’s “brief work” trip to France – Atiku tasks the Presidency

Former Vice-President Abubakar Atiku has charged the presidency to open up on the duration of President Tinubu’s visit to France and the nature of the visit.

The spokesman to People’s Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Paul Ibe, on Tuesday, made this statement while responding to reports by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale announcement that the President will be departing Abuja for France.

Reacting to the statement which was silent on the motive for the President’s trip and the duration, Ibe on X, the Spokesman wrote: “Could you kindly elucidate the duration of President Bola Tinubu’s visit to France, or is this engagement open-ended?

“Furthermore, might you provide insight into the nature of the “brief work” being undertaken in France, or is this matter held in secrecy?

“Given that the President of Nigeria serves as a public steward funded by the nation’s resources, it is of paramount importance that Nigerians are kept apprised of his travel plans, objectives, and schedules.

“I trust that having learned from the Yar’Adua experience; we are committed to upholding a higher standard of transparency.”
