“Well, when I became a lecturer, I promised myself I was not going to give in to the convention, so I decided to face my work. Of course, I did not deny the temptations, I was able to keep myself in a comfortable zone. But, that is not even my story”

The text discusses the prevalent issue of sexual solicitation in higher education, particularly focusing on the behavior of male lecturers towards female students. It acknowledges that while there are instances of female lecturers soliciting male students, these cases are less common and often perceived as unusual. The author, Benjamin Adebisi, reflects on his own experiences as a lecturer, emphasizing his commitment to professionalism and resisting temptations in an environment filled with attractive students.
Since we have known higher institutions, it is not uncommon to hear male lecturers soliciting sexual gratification from female students; although, there are few opinions of female lecturers asking male students, however, that appears like a dumb assumption.
Female lecturers might not be that aggressive to sex the way their male contemporaries are. Moreover, the higher academic environment is usually inundated with young vibrant and beautiful ladles and it might be difficult for any guy lecturer to survive the temptations.
Well, when I became a lecturer, I promised myself I was not going to give in to the conventional, so I decided to face my work. Of course, I did not deny the temptations, I was able to keep myself in a comfortable zone. But, that is not even my story.
There is this beautiful babe in my department; yeah, she looked so endowned, vocal, friendly and down to earth.
Although, I wouldn’t ever insinuate she is always with everypne but almost everyone loves to have her attention, including the Provost; yes, you heard me right.

But, that is not even the story. You know these girls, they get involved in some misbehaviours and the department decided to engage the parents; it would not be the first time, parents are invited to discuss their kid’s behaviour within the academic enviroment; so her situations was not peculiar. So that day, it was her mother available to visit the department to speak with the staff at the department.
That day, I was just bouncing into the departmental office with my all black outfits, as usual, then I saw this calm looking beautiful woman; I might not be able to say her age but young, well dressed with a Yoruba madame dress; she had a fair skin and well composed.
I was just looking but then, I had to maintain my steeze; whatever the offence of her daughter was not involving me, so none of my business; so I decided not to join in the department’s conversations to reprimand her daughter. I simply brought my information regarding my course to the Head of Department and just left but I made sure the woman noticed me.
But later in the day, since the lady was on my phone contact, I put a call through to ask what really happened at the meeting; the lady did not bother to explain much other than blames, which I am not even interested in; however, she just said “her mother observed that I did not say anything about her (the daughter)”.
Damn! It was as if I won a lottery, the person I was noticing eventually noticed me. Then, I just imagined in my canality that most male lecturers must have been short changing theirselves running after their female students, mum was hotter.
