“If a murderous Fulani Herdsman attacks you with intent to kill you and you are lucky to disarm him, you have NO RIGHT to inflict injuries on him. You will be guilty of causing excessive bodily harm and you may go to jail while the Fulani will go back to his Fura-De-Nono to plan the next attack”

PEGASUS REPORTERS, LAGOS | APRIL 30, 2025
Fulani herders killed 51 humans in Plateau State recently. I haven’t heard of any arrests so far. I am not sure the DSS, Police or Army is planning to chase or arrest anyone.
Just last week, three persons were murdered in Ondo State. No story of our security agencies chasing anybody.
Thousands of poor helpless people are routinely murdered in the North-West of Nigeria, mostly peasant Hausa Farmers. Nothing concrete has been heard.
Sheikh Gumi went to pay them royal visit in company of Soldiers, Policemen and DSS operatives. We have lost count of the number of souls despatched in Southern Kaduna. Not a single arrest or show of interest to arrest anybody.
Nasir El-Rufai was quoted to have said he has gone to BEG/BRIBE the barbarians to stop killing innocent citizens.
In Sokoto, fellow students turned on Deborah and in broad daylight they burnt her to death and even made a recording of every minute of the act without bothering to hide their faces. Nothing happened. Elders of the North looked away and not a few Sheikh OPENLY APPROVED of the killing.
Severally and continuously, Herdsmen have been wrecking havoc all over Edo land. Silence is the word from everywhere. Nobody talks. No Police moving to effect arrest and investigation.
Some years back, not too long ago, I visited my friend in the Imeko axis of Ogun State and we went to his farm. Herders had destroyed his Cashew farm. He was mad. He is a PRINCE of the land, his own father the immediate departed Oba of that town. He identified two of the offenders and promptly reported to the police. The DPO out of respect to his Status as Prince, just took him aside and jejely told him that there was not much he could do.
The Fulani men had their legs balanced on the table of the DPO. I shook my head. It was on his own ancestral land, the land where his father was ỌBA!!!!!
Whereas:
1. Just (this weekend) on Oyo, the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Fadeyi excitedly announced that he had arrested Three (3) Yoruba men who had dared to attack a Fulani settlement. The hunters had gone to retaliate the killing of a man and his wife who were both murdered even after they had been robbed of N25,000.
The police was more interested in their reaction than the action which pushed them. Perhaps if the police had acted swiftly to the murder case of the Yoruba couple as they did for the Fulani Herdsmen, there probably won’t be any retaliatory attack from the hunters. Those guys will not only end in jail, their families are as good as dead because the Fulanis will eventually, sooner or later retaliate.
In Ogbomoso there is a report of Police stopping Amoteku corps from arresting Fulani Herders who had destroyed a man’s farm. The Police DPO actually shot at the AMOTEKUN operatives in his anger.
A man in Benue sprayed insecticides on his own crop and in his own farm, Fulani Herders TRASSPASSED into his farm to destroy it as usual but unfortunately the cows got poisoned. The man is in trouble now because 20 cows got killed in his farm when they came to destroy it.
Vigilantes in Uromi in frustration and anger waylaid some people who matched the profile of those that have been attacking and killing them in huge numbers
All hell broke loose in the security architecture of Nigeria. DSS came alive and their Intelligence-gathering network was back in operation. Swiftly. We have now been told and educated on the sections of the Laws on self defence.
If a murderous Fulani Herdsman attacks you with intent to kill you and you are lucky to disarm him, you have NO RIGHT to inflict injuries on him. You will be guilty of causing excessive bodily harm and you may go to jail while the Fulani will go back to his Fura-De-Nono to plan the next attack.
If you disarm a Fulani man who had tried to kill you, your duty and responsibility is to run away as far away from him as possible. If in the course of self-defence you “go an kpai the Fulani”, no Rotimi Williams will save you in court. It is a guaranteed death sentence!
Today, the Aboki Okada riders move around the city of Abeokuta like LICENCED KILLERS. Those guys are quite capable of transforming into a mob of murderous frenzy in matter of 10 minutes; they will wreck havoc in seconds and simply stroll away.
The police will be too slow to stop the carnage but when the Yoruba people mobilize to do counter-attack, all the trucks of the Army, Navy, Mobile Police and DSS will get there swiftly like thunder to maintain “peace”
The DSS, POLICE, DMI and all the security agencies are not bothered to profile all the potential terrorists roaming freely all over Yorubaland today but if a poor Yoruba farmer walks too far away from his farm with a cutlass in his hand, the Police may stop him and he may stay long in detention
Something is definitely wrong with this kind of arrangement. We are sitting ducks and children of death in this Nigeria run on the iniquitous 1999 Aguiyi-Ironsi Unitary Constitution.
And Tinubu is Commander-in-Chief, Egbetokun is IGP, Ekiti man is Chief of Army and the DSS is headed by another Yoruba person.
At this rate, Yoruba land will NEVER SURVIVE the next Fulani Presidency or is it that we are quiet because Tinubu is President or what?
It’s really crazy!!!
